A unique photo exhibition by a non-governmental organisation at the Mumbai Press Club will showcase Mumbai through the eyes of its homeless communities. My Mumbai photo exhibition will celebrate the artistic vision of people from Mumbai’s homeless communities.

Pehchan is a Mumbai-based NGO that works to empower these people by helping them to fight for their rights and to break out of the cycle of poverty. On Wednesday, the NGO will host a photo exhibition of pictures taken by homeless people living on the streets of Mumbai.

The photo exhibition will be inaugurated by Brihanmumbai Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani, Maharashtra Shelter Monitoring Committee chairman Ujjwak Uke along with RTI activist Anil Galgali and senior photojournalist Prashant Nakwe.

Photos were taken from 50 single-use cameras over seven days with the theme of ‘What participants love about Mumbai?’ From 1,107 moments captured, the NGO has curated the most extraordinary 13 photos.

An esteemed panel of connoisseurs lent their expertise to meticulously curate this collection and the selected photographs will be featured at the exhibition. These pictures have also adorned the pages of the NGO’s exclusive calendar.
