Murbad cops foil bank robbery, arrest eight

An interstate gang of robbers was busted on Monday with the arrest of nine people in Murbad Road, Kalyan (W). The police recovered three bikes, chilly powder, sharp weapons, which included knives, nylon ropes from the gang, who are from Andhra Pradesh, police said.

Kalyan: An interstate gang of robbers was busted on Monday with the arrest of nine people in Murbad Road, Kalyan (W). The police recovered three bikes, chilly powder, sharp weapons, which included knives, nylon ropes from the gang, who are from Andhra Pradesh, police said. The arrested accused are Iliyasraj Keshawraj (30), Sanjay Naidu (25), Benjamin (26), Dasu Babu Yedda (28), Saloman Lozor Gogula (46), Arun Patel, Rajan Gogula(46), Mosha Yaqub (30), Danial Akula (25).

Kalyan’s Anti-Robbery Squad were in civil dress patrolling Murbad road. The police felt suspicious on seeing Iliyasraj movement, while he was on his bike and frequenting the surrounding area. As they interrogated him, he revealed the conspiracy of looting cash in Murbad Punjab National Bank.

Before the committ the bank robbery, police arrested them. Police informed to superior and formed a team and laid the trap near the bank. As the robbers approached the bank they are were arrested. The Mahatma Phule Police booked a case against them under Section 399, 402, 120(B), 353, 332 of Indian Penal Code.

During the course of interrogation, the accused confessed to their role, whose main kingpin was Saloman Lazor Gogula. They revealed that earlier to they committed a property offence among the city and state such as Aurangabad, Ahmadnagar, Jalgaon, Godiya, Karnataka, Nagpur. A total of 23 cases have been registered against them in all over city and state.
