The Mumbai Central railway police on Tuesday detained a youth for allegedly misbehaving with a female passenger on a local train. On Monday, at 5:33 pm, the youth entered the first-class compartment of the Churchgate-to-Borivali slow train and started harassing a female passenger. As soon as other passengers began recording a video, he got off at Mahim station.

An individual tweeted about the incident, sharing the video and tagging the railway police and the Railway Protection Force. The post mentioned that the drug addict had misbehaved with a female passenger on the train.

As soon as the railway police received the information, they detained him within 24 hours. The detained youth has been identified as Ashwin Wadia, 26, who resides outside Platform No.1 at Dadar Railway Station. Under the guidance of H.T. Kumbhar, Police Inspector Bharat Patil and his team carried out the operation. The railway police stated that the women were unwilling to file a complaint, so they took preventive action against the accused.

A police officer stated, "The youth is a ragpicker. We had detained him under the Railway Acts. The police warned him about the laws, and after questioning, we released him. No prior cases were filed against him."
