Mumbai: Panic spread late Sunday after an unidentified man made a threatening call to Dial 112, claiming that “Mumbai will be destroyed with bombs” and that some suspicious individuals had already entered the city.

The caller, who identified himself as Rajiv Singh, alleged that he had overheard a conversation near the JJ Marg area, where a person spoke about a planned bombing and the presence of individuals involved in the plot.

Upon receiving the threat, security agencies were immediately alerted, and precautionary measures were taken to verify the claim.

After preliminary investigation, it was determined that the call was a hoax. A case has been registered against the caller Rajiv Singh for spreading false information and creating panic among the public. Police have initiated further legal action against him under relevant sections.
