Hours after Aryan Khan and others got a clean chit in the Cordelia drug seizure case, NCP hit back at NCB officer Sameer Wankhede claiming that the party Minister Nawab Malik was right as since day one he had talked about farjiwada by NCB officials.
NCP asked who would be held responsible for the trauma he suffered. It also said that the then zonal director of the NCB, Sameer Wankhede, was answerable to the people of this country.
State NCP chief spokesman Mahesh Tapase said "The writing is very clear on the wall that the objections raised by NCP minister Nawab Malik regarding the way the entire raid was conducted and selection of witnesses having a close affinity with BJP were valid." He added, ‘’Malik had raised serious questions on the functioning and character of Sameer Wankhede. We have always maintained that the NCB is a very credible organisation having an impeccable track record, but the way things were happening in the recent times put question marks on the conduct of the organisation.’’
The Office of Nawab Malik tweeted, ‘’ Now that Aryan Khan and five others get a clean chit, will NCB take action against Sameer Wankhede (former NCB zonal director), his team and the private army? Or will it shield the culprits?
NCP’s ally Congress alleged that the entire case was part of a "larger conspiracy" to topple the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.
State Congress Chief Spokesperson Atul Londhe has demanded that actions taken by Sameer Wankhede including Cordelia should be investigated and the culprits should be severely punished. ‘’It was yet again exposed the misuse of the central probe agencies by the BJP led government at the Centre,’’ he noted.
NCP spokesman Clyde Crasto said, "If Aryan Khan was clean, why was he tainted? What was the motive? Who will be held responsible for the trauma this young man suffered? Many questions arise."
