Mumbai Water Cut: From Reduced Supply To None At All In Parts Of Bandra, Khar & Santacruz On August 11-12; BMC Issues Advisory

The BMC has announced water supply disruptions in parts of Mumbai's H-East and K-South wards on August 11 and 12 due to maintenance of a 2,400-mm Vaitarna pipeline. Several areas will face complete shutdowns or low-pressure supply, with residents advised to store water in advance.

Mumbai: Mumbai residents in parts of the H-East and K-South wards will face water supply disruptions on August 11 and 12 as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) undertakes maintenance and repair work on a 2,400-mm diameter Vaitarna water pipeline. The civic body has urged citizens to store adequate water in advance and use it judiciously during the shutdown.

Details On Areas Affected

According to the BMC, water supply will remain completely suspended from 10 am on August 11 to 10 am on August 12 in several areas of the H-East ward. These include the International Airport area, Hangar Staff Colony, Air India Colony, Santacruz (East), Bandra Terminus and the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC). Additionally, on August 12, water supply will also remain shut in parts of Santacruz (East), Khar (East) and Bandra (East).

In the K-South ward, residents will experience low-pressure water supply at different times due to the maintenance work. On August 11, areas including Kabir Nagar, Bamanwada, Parshiwada, Airport area, Tarun Bharat Colony, Islampura, Deulwadi, Machhi Market, Ghativada, Chakala and the P&T Colony will receive water at low pressure between 2 pm and 5:30 pm.

Low Pressure Supply Near Sahar On August 11-12

Later the same day, from 5 pm to 10 pm, low-pressure supply will affect Koldongri, Old Police Lane, Vijay Nagar (Sahar Road) and Mogarapada. The impact will continue on August 12, with residents of Sahar Village, Sutar Pakhadi and the Cargo Complex area likely to receive low-pressure water supply between 5 am and 8 am. The BMC has appealed to citizens in the affected areas to store sufficient water beforehand and use it sparingly until normal supply is restored after the maintenance work is completed.
