Dismissed Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Vaze, an accused in the Antilia bomb scare and Mansukh Hiran murder case, on Wednesday, made an application through his advocate before an incharge National Investigation Agency (NIA) court and told it that the Taloja jail authorities have not complied with the orders of the court to provide him medical aid.

Vaze was not produced before the court from prison. In his plea, through advocate Raunak Naik, Vaze sought a direction to prison authorities to produce him before the court through video-conferencing so that he could himself tell the court about the situation. On April 23 and April 28, this year, the regular NIA court had passed orders directing the jail to conduct a complete dental check-up for Vaze and report compliance of the same. Advocate Naik told the court that the orders have not been complied with.

Special judge DE Kothakilar of the incharge court directed that Vaze be produced before the court on June 10. In the meanwhile, the court asked the prison authorities to comply with the order if they are not complied with until now and submit the compliance report before it by June 10 ‘without fail’.

On Wednesday, NIA also sought for Vaze’s judicial custody to be extended. This was opposed by his advocate. The court has extended his custody until June 10. While doing so, it considered the reasons the agency cited in the NIA’s report and that the investigation was under progress.
