Mumbai: Hemant Jain form Uttar Pradesh, who successfully bid for a property owned by globally-designated terrorist Dawood Ibrahim in Nagpada 23 years ago, will be arriving in Mumbai on Wednesday to take possession of the property. The property is located in Unit no. 11, Shed no. 4, 32/36, Jairaj Bhai Lane, Nagpada.

Jain told FPJ on Monday that he has already informed the police about his eagerness to take possession of the property which measures only 144 sqft. When an FPJ photographer went to the site, the local people said they were unaware of any property being purchased in the area. Sources in the police said they will extend all help to Jain in taking possession of the shop if his papers were in order.

Jain said he decided to bid for the shop since no one was coming forward to take part in the auction by the income-tax department. His aim was to defy Dawood, who is living it up in Pakistan.

Jain bid Rs 2 lakhs and won the auction. He promptly paid the money to the Central government. But the transfer document was registered after a 23 year long struggle on December 19. In between the file had gone missing mysteriously.
