Mumbai University starts helpline for girl students

Mumbai :  On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the University of Mumbai started new initiative – ‘Connect Vice-Chancellor’- a helpline on Gmail to redress girl students’ grievances and problems in the university campus.

University official said that vice-chancellor Dr Sanjay Deshmukh is not happy with the existing system which is time consuming and students cannot reach to the vice-chancellor.

Dr Deshmukh said, “Anyone who gas grievance can direct connect with me on helplineofmumbaiuniversityvc@gmail.com. Please write your complaint in detail and send it on this address.”

He added, “My office will see the nature of complaint and send it to the competing authority to redress the complaint within 24 hours.”

While talking about future plan, Dr Deshmukh said that he wishes to transform the university into a ‘digital university’ and all authorities are striving hard to achieve it in the near future. As a part of it, the university has provided free wi-fi facility in the university campus as well as in selected colleges.

On The occasion of Teachers’ Day, Mumbai University awarded Savitribai Phule Adarsh Sikshika Awards to Dr Gauri Mahulikar, head of Sanskrit Department, and Dr Sharayu Asolkar from Kudal College.
