Following the announcement of the first merit list with over 6.5 lakh registrations and applications for degree college admissions, the University of Mumbai (MU) has decided to reopen the registration link. Students who have been unable to register can now apply and submit the mandatory pre admission online forms at

mum.digitaluniversity.ac from 11 am on August 7 to 6 pm on August 14 to be eligible for admissions for the academic year 2020-21.

On Thursday, MU released a circular stating, "The registration link will be reopened from 11 am on August 7 to 6 pm on August 14 to provide a chance to students to register, fill details and complete pre admission registration." The university had earlier closed the registration link on August 5. But now, bearing in mind various technical and onground difficulties faced by students in different districts in view of the Covid-19 situation, the university has decided to reopen the link.

Vinod Patil, in-charge registrar of MU, said, "We have reopened the registration link because several students are facing diferent kinds of technical and physical challenges due to the coronavirus situation. We want to give students another chance to apply in case they have missed the earlier registration and application deadline."

According to MU, once these students complete online registration, they can apply for admissions to specific degree colleges affiliated to MU and courses through individual college portals after the declaration of the third merit list. Patil said, "Students who register between August 7 and 14 can apply for admissions to degree courses on individual college portals after the third merit list is announced. Colleges can accommodate these students based on the vacant seats left after the third list."

Currently, students whose names have appeared on the first merit list declared on August 6 can submit and verify documents, pay fees online and submit undertaking form till August 11. The second and third merit lists will be declared on August 11 and 17 at 7 pm respectively.
