Mumbai: Since the Mumbai trans-harbour link (MTHL) construction work is in full swing, and as a majority of the project alignment passes through the migratory birds like flamingos’ territory, in order to protect them all construction equipment have been fitted with silencers. Moreover, reverse circulation drilling methodology is being used.
This technology also helps in reducing noise level, apart from carrying out faster construction work in the marine area, said the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). The MTHL bridge begins from Sewri, South Mumbai and crosses Thane creek which terminates at Chirle village located near Nhava Sheva (situated in Navi Mumbai). The construction work which started last year in November is expected to be completed by September 2022. -Staff Reporter
