On March 19 at around 11 pm, she received obscene photos and videos from his number on WhatsApp. The following day, she approached the LT Marg Police Station and filed a complaint against the accused.

Mumbai: A tiffin box supplier was arrested for sexual harassment on Saturday, March 22, after allegedly sending pornographic images and videos to a 20-year-old college student in Mumbai. The victim, who studies at a college in Churchgate, resides as a paying guest with two other students in South Mumbai's Chira Bazaar.

The students had arranged for daily lunch and dinner from a tiffin service, with a delivery person dropping off their food outside their flat at 12:30 pm and 8:30 pm. According to a Hindustan Times report citing the FIR, the victim was usually in college or outside at the time of delivery and had never interacted with the person bringing the food.

Pornographic Videos Sent Late Night

Recently, the regular delivery person went to his native place, and a new delivery man took over the service. The victim contacted him to provide instructions on where to keep the tiffin boxes. However, on March 19 at around 11 pm, she received obscene photos and videos from his number on WhatsApp. Shocked and disturbed, she immediately informed her roommates and friends. The following day, she approached the LT Marg Police Station and filed a complaint against the accused.

FIR Filed Under Several Sections Of BNS

Based on her statement, an FIR was registered under Section 75 (1) (iii) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, which pertains to showing pornography against a woman's will, and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000, for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form.

The accused, a married man whose family resides in Rajasthan, was taken into custody by the police, according to the report. He was produced before the court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody.
