Mumbai: A recent survey by a doctor along with a think tank, Artha Global, has revealed that nearly 50% of respondents reported coughing due to air pollution.
Dr Lancelot Pinto, consultant respirologist at PD Hinduja Hospital, who was part of the survey, said many of his patients suffer from prolonged cough, wheezing, and shortness of breath, which worsen outdoors.

The survey of 125 people found that 50% attributed increased coughing to air pollution and dust, while 42% reported experiencing breathing difficulties due to pollution. Additionally, 22% of respondents had to take leave from work due to respiratory issues, and 23% faced difficulties commuting because of breathing problems.
