Mumbai: Schools that put pressure on parents of students to pay fees or threaten to expel students from the school will be derecognised, said Varsha Gaikwad, school education minister of Maharashtra on Wednesday. A strict inquiry will be initiated and action will be taken against such schools which use illegal means and deny access to online education to students on non-payment of fees.

The minister has urged schools to be cooperative as many parents have lost their jobs due to the Coronavirus pandemic and are finding it difficult to pay fees.
