In Mumbai, Auxiliary Bishop Savio Fernandes, issued a circular to members of the clergy and the community to pray for the Pope's recovery. Fernandes said he was instructed by Archbishop John Rodrigues to call upon members of the church to support the Pope with their prayers, asking God to grant him strength, healing, and a quick recovery.

Fernandes asked all parishes, religious communities, and families to offer special prayers for the Pope and remember him in their religious services, rosaries, and in personal and communal devotions.

Fernandes said church members can organise a half hour of prayer on Friday, 21st February 2025 and pray especially for Pope Francis' health, and/or include an intention in the Prayer of the Faithful on Sunday, 23rd February 2025.
