A week after a 45-year-old bike-borne man was fatally hit by a speeding car, the Bandra police have established his identity. The victim, Aziz Khan, was identified after his sister, a US resident, reached Mumbai on March 16, said the officials.

Khan, who lived near Mehboob Studio in Bandra West, worked as an investment advisor, his sister told the police, adding that he was unmarried and stayed alone. While his parents and one of his sisters live in the US, another sister resides in Bandra, but was unable to come for identification due to health reasons, the police said.

The fatal mishap occurred on March 9 around 11.15pm when bike-borne Khan met a head-on collision with a car near St Stephen's Church. He got trapped under the car’s right rear wheel, sustaining multiple injuries, said the FIR. Both the vehicles were overspeeding, the officials had said earlier.

The accused was identified as Joravarsingh Sachdev, 40, a restaurant businessman from Pune. After the accident, the police issued a notice to Sachdev, who has been booked for causing death by negligence), rash driving and acts that endanger human life or safety.
