Mumbai: In a swift operation, LT Marg Police have solved a serious kidnapping and robbery case within six hours, arresting five accused from Pune, Satara, and Thane. Arrested Accused Identified As Ajay Balkrishna Lokhande (32), resident of Malgude, Atpadi, Sangli, Revansiddh Rajaram Jawade (27), resident of Shethphale, Atpadi, Sangli, Sagar Damodar Jadhav (29), from Palshi, Khanapur, Sangli, Vikas Ankush Dehale (38), also from Palshi, Khanapur, Sangli and Dilip Kashinath Dhekale (43), resident of Shantinagar, Thane
According to police officials, on June 21, 2025, between 6:15 PM and 7:30 PM, four individuals, posing as police officers, forcibly abducted the complainant from Third Popalwadi, Bhuleshwar, Mumbai. The accused pushed the victim into a four-wheeler at knifepoint, threatened to kill him, and snatched a bag containing ₹50 lakh. They also took out the SIM card from his phone and dropped him off at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, warning him not to return to Mumbai or risk being “encountered.”
A case was immediately registered under sections 204, 205, 140(2), 309(4), 61(2), 3(5) of the BNS along with relevant sections of the Arms Act on June 22 in L T Marg Police Station. During the investigation, using technical surveillance, two accused were traced and detained from Khed Shivapur in coordination with Pune Rural LCB.
Further pursuit led to the arrest of two more suspects from Satara, and one from Shantinagar, Thane. All five were found to be directly involved and were produced before the court, which granted police custody until June 26, 2025.
The police have seized a Swift Dzire car, ₹39 lakh in cash, and the knife used in the crime. Further investigation is underway to determine additional involvement and recover the remaining stolen amount.
