Mumbai Police Conduct Special Drive, Take Action Against 1,831 Traffic Violators

A total of 1,831 drivers were penalized under various sections of the Motor Vehicles Act. Notably, 70 drivers were booked for driving under the influence of alcohol. Additionally, 28 auto-rickshaws were seized.

Under the guidance of the Mumbai Police Commissioner, Special Commissioner of Police, and Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), a special drive was carried out on December 15 from 12:05 AM to 5:00 AM across the Mumbai Police Commissionerate jurisdiction. During the operation, 107 checkpoints were set up, and 6,369 vehicles were inspected.

A total of 1,831 drivers were penalized under various sections of the Motor Vehicles Act. Notably, 70 drivers were booked for driving under the influence of alcohol. Additionally, 28 auto-rickshaws were seized.

Mumbai Police have stated that such special drives will continue to enforce strict action against traffic rule violators. Citizens are encouraged to report traffic violations by contacting the police control room at 100/103/112.
