Mumbai: Part of road caves in Girgaon near Metro 3 work site

A portion of a road caved in Girgaon near Metro 3 work site on Wednesday morning causing inconvenience to residents. More details awaited.

Recently, MMRCl completed the construction of Vidhan Bhawan Station box in Package-1 on the Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ metro-3 corridor. The construction includes all four slabs – base slab, concourse slab, mezzanine slab and roof slab. The overall progress of Vidhan Bhawan station is 75.45 per cent. The first of the stations that completed such construction was MIDC station of package-7.

The MMRC has now completed 85 per cent of tunnelling with the help of 17 TBMs and about 59 per cent of the overall construction work.

The Metro-3 project which is worth Rs 30,000 crore will connect Cuffe Parade business district in the extreme south of the city to SEEPZ in the north-central with 26 underground and one at-grade station.
