Mumbai: A suspicious boat was spotted near the Korlai coast close to Revdanda in Raigad district, roughly two nautical miles from land. Authorities believe the ship has external insignia, likely from Pakistan, and it could have floated into the region after individuals left it.

Security protocols were increased on Sunday after the sighting, leading to actions from various organizations including Raigad Police, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), Quick Response Team (QRT), the Navy, and the Coast Guard. Raigad Superintendent of Police Anchal Dalal and high-ranking officials came to monitor the situation.

Even with prompt efforts, accessing the boat proved difficult because of intense rain and powerful winds. The Superintendent tried to reach the boat with a barge but had to retreat due to the weather conditions. During the night, a search effort started, with a red light seen coming from the boat, and barriers were established at various sites.

The police boosted their presence in the area, and security measures in the district were improved as a precaution. Current developments focus on the safety and possible dangers linked to the unidentified ship seen offshore.

Raigad Superintendent of Police Anchal Dalal, together with high-ranking police officials, assessed the coastal situation following an alert. Raigad Police, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, Quick Response Team, Navy, and Coast Guard teams reacted swiftly.

The ship, thought to bear foreign symbols, might have floated to the shore. Security in the vicinity was intensified, as heavy rainfall and strong winds made it difficult to get close to the vessel, according to report by Times Now, Dalal tried to access it by barge but came back because of the poor weather conditions. A significant police presence was set up as a preventive measure.
