Mumbai: The Prakash Ambedkar-led Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA), while announcing the list of the candidates, had mentioned the caste of the candidates after their names, becoming the first party to do so. Following this trend, union textile minister Smriti Irani too has chosen to declare her religion with her name, when the Bharatiya Janata Party declared its list of candidates on Thursday. Irani is Parsi and she is the only one of the 182 BJP candidates to do so.
