Mumbai: A major leakage was detected on the 1800 mm diameter Tansa pipeline at Bhandup West on Saturday night. The civic team has undertaken a repair work of pipeline on war footing. However, the work will take 10 to 12 hours to complete due to which some parts of Mulund and Bhandup area will not receive water supply during this period.

"We will need to isolate the pipeline in order to pinpoint the exact location of the leakage. Our team of engineers and workers is working on a war-footing to complete the repairs and restore the water supply as soon as possible. However, it will take more than 10 hours to finish the work, during which water supply will be halted in some parts of Mulund, and Bhandup" said an official from the Hydraulic Engineering department.

During this period areas like Amar Nagar, Khindipada, GGS Marg area, Mulund Colony area, Rahul Nagar, Shankar Tekdi, Hanumanpada, Malabar Hill Road, Swapnanagari, Ghatipada, B.R. Road, and others will not receive water supply.

Additionally, in the S ward (Bhandup), the surrounding areas of Khindipada and Najma Nagar will also face disruption, said BMC. The BMC has requested residents to use water sparingly and cooperate with the ongoing efforts.
