Mumbai: The India Meteorological Department has raised a significant alert for Mumbaikars, warning of rough seas for the next three days, with expected wave heights exceeding four and a half meters. The highest tide of this monsoon is scheduled for today, June 26, 2025, at 12:55 PM, projected to reach 4.75 meters. Tourists and residents are urged to stay away from the beaches and refrain from entering the sea during this period.

The forecast indicates that the sea will be extremely rough from June 26 to 28, prompting the Disaster Management Department of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation to advise citizens to avoid coastal areas. The current monsoon season has seen its first tide commencing from June 24, with today marking the highest wave forecast.

High Tide Alert For Upcoming Days

Specific tide details for the next three days include:

- June 26 at 12:55 PM: 4.75 meters

- June 27 at 1:40 PM: 4.73 meters

- June 28 at 2:26 PM: 4.64 meters

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation emphasizes that large crowds are expected at popular spots like Marine Drive, Worli, Bandra, Juhu, and Dadar. Residents are urged to stay alert, avoid the beach during high tide, and disregard unverified information. Additionally, emergency services, including a 24-hour control room, have been established, and citizens can contact the Municipal Corporation’s helpline at 1916 for any disaster-related issues.

Upcoming forecasts include scattered thunderstorms Thursday, rain Friday and Saturday, followed by further thunderstorms Monday, and light rain early next week.
