Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) received a bomb threat on Friday, prompting a swift search operation by security forces. However, nothing suspicious was found.

According to officials, a phone call was received on Friday at 2:30 PM from an Indian mobile number by the office of the Director General of Police (DGP), Maharashtra, located in Colaba. The caller claimed that a bomb would be planted at the CSMT railway station.

Acting on the information, teams from the Railway Police and Mumbai Police conducted a thorough search of the premises. However, no suspicious items were found during the operation. A non-cognizable (NC) offence has been registered by Colaba Police, and further investigation is underway.

Senior Inspector Sambhaji Katare of CSMT GRP stated, "As per the Standard Operating Procedure, concerned teams were called, and a search operation was carried out. With the help of the Bomb Disposal Squad and Dog Squad, we searched the entire station. Nothing suspicious was found. We have registered a case at Mumbai’s Colaba Police Station. The call regarding the bomb threat had come from Assam. Further investigation is underway."

Meanwhile, on Friday, another hoax bomb threat call warning of an explosion at Mumbai’s T2 International Airport around 6 PM prompted a quick response from the Mumbai Police. The Azad Maidan Police have registered a non-cognizable (NC) offence in the case and initiated an investigation.

According to the police, the control room of the Commissioner of Mumbai Police, located opposite Crawford Market in Fort, received calls from three different phone numbers around 2 PM on Friday. The unidentified caller claimed that a bomb would detonate at Terminal 2 of Mumbai Airport later that evening.

Upon receiving the threat, the police registered an NC offence at Azad Maidan Police Station and launched a probe to trace the origin of the calls. Preliminary investigations revealed that the calls were made from mobile numbers active near the Assam–West Bengal border.
