Mumbai: Ram Narayan Singh, a constable of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) with Central Railway, displayed extraordinary courage and presence of mind by saving a passenger from certain death at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT).

"The incident occurred on May 30, 2025, when Train No. 12201 down LTT-Kochuveli Garibrath Express had just departed from Platform number four of LTT. A passenger, in a desperate attempt to board the moving train, lost his balance and slipped into the dangerous gap between the train and the platform" said an official.

According to CR, on-duty constable Ram Narayan Singh immediately sprang into action. Reacting within seconds, he rushed toward the passenger and pulled him out just in time, averting a potentially fatal accident. His quick reflexes and fearless action earned him the well-deserved title of “Jeevan Rakshak” — savior of life.

Following the incident, the visibly shaken passenger explained that a family emergency had compelled him to take the risky step. He was counselled by railway staff and given appropriate guidance to continue his journey safely.

"The Central Railway has lauded Singh’s brave and selfless action, emphasizing that his dedication and alertness exemplify the highest standards of duty expected from railway personnel" further added official.

"Ram Narayan Singh has set an inspiring example for others to follow," said a senior official from Central Railway. "His courage and compassion embody the spirit of public service and human kindness that Indian Railways stands for."
