Mumbai: The BMC demolished an unauthorised bungalow constructed in the Erangal village on Madh- Marve Road on Saturday. The action was taken after the civic body won a legal battle against the owner, claims the civic official.

The civic team of P North ward had identified an unauthorised bungalow built on a 2,000 sq.ft. plot at Madh Island in the Western suburbs. Kundan Valvi, Assistant Municipal Commissioner of P North ward, said, "We had issued a notice to the property owner regarding the illegal construction two years ago. However, the owner challenged the notice in the Bombay High Court (HC). With the matter now resolved by the court, the civic team took decisive action to demolish the bungalow, carrying out the operation under police protection."

The demolition operation, executed with the assistance of one Poclain and two JCBs, involved 10 laborers, 4 police officers, and 8 engineers. Additionally, employees from both the building and factory departments took part in the operation. The bungalow, which was demolished, also contained six makeup rooms, constructed as part of the unauthorised structure.
