Mumbai News: BEST Provides ₹2 Lakh Financial Aid To Families Of Kurla Bus Accident Victims

The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) Undertaking on Tuesday provided financial assistance to the families of three victims who lost their lives in the tragic bus accident that occurred in Kurla on December 9, 2024. The General Manager of BEST handed over cheques of ₹2 lakh each to the families of Afreen Abdulla Salim Shah, Mohammed Islam Mohammad Nizam Ansari, and Mehtab Sheikh.

The accident, which resulted in the loss of nearly a dozen lives and left 40 others seriously injured, was one of the most severe mishaps involving a BEST bus in recent years. On the occasion, the General Manager expressed deep condolences to the grieving families and assured them of continued support.

"The loss of lives in this unfortunate incident is deeply saddening. We stand with the affected families during this difficult time," said an official.
