Mumbai News: BEST Bus Catches Fire Outside Churchgate Station, All Passengers Evacuated Safely (Watch Video)

As the blaze was witnessed, passengers inside the bus were immediately evacuated. All the passengers exited the bus before the fire escalated and fortunately no injuries were reported.

A Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) bus caught fire outside Churchgate station on Thursday night creating panic situation among commuters. "The BEST bus route number 121, which was going towards J Mehta Marg caught fire near Churchgate railway station. The bus number was MH-01-DR-1327. All passengers were evacuated safely and no injuries were reported," official from BMC disaster management told the FPJ.

As the blaze was witnessed, passengers inside the bus were immediately evacuated. All the passengers exited the bus before the fire escalated and fortunately no injuries were reported.

As per information from fire control room, the incident was reported at 9.52 pm and the fire was immediately doused at 10.02 pm. The fire was extinguished before the fire brigade reached the spot, the control room official said. 

Disaster Management Department of BMC said that they are waiting information from BEST if the bus was electric run, CNG or Petrol. The cause of fire is still being investigated.
