The participants reflected that this movement is not only for the strays dogs of Delhi or Mumbai but for the strays of every city. They demanded that the government should follow the Animal Birth Control rules properly to deal with the issue alleging that the government does not have enough space, money and staff to keep the dogs.

Focus on Sterilisation and Vaccination

Roshan Pathak, animal rights advisor at PAL Foundation, β€œIf the Maharashtra government gives such an order, we animal lovers will not let it be implemented. The government and the municipality should focus on sterilisation and vaccination of dogs instead of relocating them. Firstly, action should be taken against those municipal officials who do not pay attention to their duty of vaccination. The government should make the city crime-free, not animal-free.”
