Mumbai: The Sahar police have registered a case against six Nepali nationals for allegedly using forged Foreign Employment Permit papers to travel from Mumbai to the UAE and Qatar. Each had paid an agent between NPR 1 lakh and 2.5 lakh for the documents. The group was intercepted by immigration officers at Mumbai International Airport, and a complaint was filed on May 27.

According to the FIR, on May 26 around 11pm, Ramekbal Dhanuk, 27, arrived at the airport with a Nepali passport, boarding pass, UAE visa, and employment permit. He was scheduled to board flight 6E-1511 at 2.10am on May 27. The immigration officer grew suspicious of his papers and referred him for further verification.

Shortly after, five other Napalis presented similar documents at various counters. Upon checking the permits online and confirming with the Nepal Embassy in New Delhi, officials found no records of the persons, confirming the documents were fake.

Investigations revealed that the six men had traveled by road from Nepal to Bihar before flying to Mumbai. They were attempting to reach the UAE and Qatar for employment.

The accused are Ramekbal Dhanuk, 27, Mohammad Alam, 23, Raki Yadav alias Prasad Yadav, 20, Mohammad Haroon Manihar, 37, Mobin Musalman alias Baitulla Musalman, 32, and Jogindra Yadav alias Kishori Yadav, 36, all Nepali nationals.

Based on the complaint, the police booked them under Sections 340(2) (use of forged documents or electronic records) and 336(3) (forgery with intent to cheat) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, among other applicable provisions.
