A 30-year-old man was beaten to death by a father and son on suspicion of mobile theft in Sakinaka earlier this week. Police have registered a case of murder and arrested the accused. The deceased has been identified as Ashok Tulse, 30, a resident of Ashok Nagar, Sakinaka.

Mumbai: A 30-year-old man was beaten to death by a father and son on suspicion of mobile theft in Sakinaka earlier this week. Police have registered a case of murder and arrested the accused. The deceased has been identified as Ashok Tulse, 30, a resident of Ashok Nagar, Sakinaka.

According to the police, Ashok allegedly stole Suresh Dungav’s mobile phone. In a fit of rage, Suresh, 54, and his son, Laxman, 32, stopped Ashok in Kajupada, Sakinaka, and began assaulting him. Ashok sustained a severe head injury and lost consciousness, after which the duo fled the scene.

Residents informed the police, who arrived at the spot and took Ashok to Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar (East). However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The deceased was a dumper driver. Suresh is a painter, while his son is a delivery boy.

Ashok’s younger brother, Akash, 24, filed a complaint against Suresh and Laxman Dungav. The police registered an FIR under Sections 103(1) (murder) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on Sunday.
