Mumbai News: 160 Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants Deported From City And Surrounding Districts In Major Crackdown

Authorities have intensified their crackdown on illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Mumbai and its surrounding districts like Thane and Mira Bhayandar. In a coordinated operation on Friday, police deported a total of 160 Bangladeshi nationals. Of these, 58 were apprehended by the Mumbai Police and 102 by the Thane Police.

Mumbai: Authorities have intensified their crackdown on illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Mumbai and its surrounding districts like Thane and Mira Bhayandar. In a coordinated operation on Friday, police deported a total of 160 Bangladeshi nationals. Of these, 58 were apprehended by the Mumbai Police and 102 by the Thane Police.

According to official sources, between January 1 and June 30, 2025, approximately 532 Bangladeshi nationals have been deported following legal proceedings. The majority of the deportees fall within the 20–22 age group.

In addition, authorities have registered a total of 375 cases against illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in 2025 so far. The action is part of a broader effort to identify and expel foreign nationals residing illegally in India. Investigations and deportation procedures continue.
