With monthly salaries been credit to workers, people are a bit frustrated that they cant’ get their salaries in hand due to shortage of currency supply, most of ATMs are either closed or without cash. The government has also keep its limitations on daily withdrawal of money from banks and ATMs, Rs 24,000 per week from banks and Rs 2,500 per person from ATM. But is it sufficient to people to manage their routine expenses in less money?

Here’s what the common man has to share on how they manage the routine expenses including special ones – given the marriage season in times of demonetization –
“Customers are bringing Rs 2000 note to purchase goods, we don’t have that much change to give every customer. Not every time, but we give credit to customer so that the customer comes again and again at our shop”, said a Malad-based shopkeeper.
“I am buying vegetables, milk, and other thing on credit and among others like newspaper vendor, TV cable we told them to wait for next month. And the Railways are giving rail passes on debit card on this based we are managing our routine”, said a working house-wife.
“As my marriage ceremony is next week, me and my family are finding it quite difficult to to handle the situation. Banks are only giving Rs 2.5 lakh from the bank account, other cash we manage from the credit from your relatives. And I am also facing problem in shopping because furniture store and hall booking they are not accepting payment by debit cards or cheque, they want only cash. Due to demonetisation we can’t manage high amount of cash in short time. Hence, time and again we have to request the service providers to accept some amount in cash and other in cheque”, said by bride Pooja Sonar.
