Results of final-year last semester examinations of Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), Arts (BA), Science (BSc) programmes and professional undergraduate (UG) courses such as Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), Mass Media (BMM), Information Technology (BSc IT) and Accounting and Finance (BAF) have not been declared yet by the University of Mumbai (MU).

Students planning to pursue their higher education in foreign universities for the academic year 2021-2022 from August-September are worried as the delay in declaring results might affect their admission. Jaman Khaleed, a BMS student planning to study in Germany, said, "I want to pursue my master’s degree from a university in Germany. My course is set to begin in September. However, I’m yet to submit my final-year marksheet and degree certificate. I hope MU will issue my final degree certificate soon."

Antonette Raj, a BSc IT student who plans to pursue an MBA programme in the United Kingdom (UK), said, "Already there is a lot of uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic, travel ban and approval of vaccine doses. I have informed the university in London that my results have been delayed due to the pandemic and lockdown in India. I do not want to miss an opportunity to pursue my higher education due to the delay in declaring the results."

Initially, MU had said the results of final-year last semester summer examinations will be declared by June-end. Due to the restrictions in Maharashtra imposed by the state government, the MU examination staff is not permitted to commute by local train services.

Vinod Patil, director of Board of Examination and Evaluation of MU, said, "The state government has still not allowed all the examination staff to commute by local train services in Mumbai. This has delayed the entire process, because we are working with minimum staff in the examination department. We are in the process of declaring the results."

For students planning to study abroad, Patil said, "We are providing confidential results and letters to students planning to study abroad. This can help them secure admissions in foreign universities. We will declare the results of the major final-year examinations soon." Till now, MU has announced more than 12 results of the summer 2021 examinations.
