Mumbai :Man stabbed by friend at Bandstand

A man was killed in a drunken brawl at Bandstand in Bandra (W) in the wee hours of Friday. The accused, who is yet to be identified, is at large and is suspected to be a junkie in the neighbourhood.

According to police, the incident occurred at 12.30am on Friday, when the deceased was having a leisure time with his friends near Bandstand area. A fight, however, broke out between the duo, most likely on a monetary issue, which escalated and the accused stabbed the man, following which he fled.

While a bystander alerted police, they reached the spot and rushed the man to the civic run Bhabha Hospital, where he was declared dead before arrival. Subsequently, a case of murder has been registered and further probe is underway.
