Mumbai Local Train Update: Five Suburban Trains Cancelled, Several Delayed On Central Railway’s Main Line

Five suburban train services on the Central Railways (CR) main line, including one 15-car train, were cancelled on Wednesday, while several others faced delays.

According to a spokesperson from CR, no specific reason or technical failure was cited for the cancellations. The spokesperson added that some mail express trains arriving in Mumbai from the northeast were delayed due to fog in North India, which impacted their schedules. Additionally, incidents of alarm chain pulling in three mail express trains further contributed to the disruptions.

Commuters reported significant delays, with some trains running up to 20 minutes behind schedule. A passenger mentioned that an up fast train was delayed by approximately 29 minutes in the afternoon. Similarly, several down trains were also running late, affecting travel times for hundreds of passengers.
