Mumbai: Western Railway local train services faced yet another round of disruptions on Tuesday morning during peak office hours, with commuters reporting delays of up to 30–40 minutes. The popular commuter application M-indicator was flooded with complaints from frustrated passengers over the delays.

Western Railway Official Responds To Delay
According to Western Railway PRO Smita Rosario, a chain pulling incident on a mail train and delays in AC trains due to heavy passenger rush, which affected door closure, were among the reasons for the disruption.

Double Point Failure On Western Line In Single Day
The latest inconvenience came just a day after a series of technical failures had already crippled services on the Western line. On Monday, two separate point failures, one at Virar and another at Bandra, caused delays and cancellations.
At Virar, a point failure at 10:45 am brought services to a halt. Railway staff and officials rushed to the site, managing to restore operations by 11:40 am. However, the one-hour delay disrupted schedules across the network, leading to multiple train cancellations.
Just as services were returning to normal, a second point failure occurred at Bandra at 1:45 pm on the Harbour line, affecting both up and down services. Though repairs were completed by 2:14 pm, trains continued to run 10–15 minutes late, creating inconvenience for evening commuters, particularly those travelling from Churchgate towards the suburbs.
In a separate incident on Monday evening, services on the Harbour line were halted after a man climbed onto the roof of a Panvel–Wadala local near Vashi station around 5:07 pm. Railway authorities immediately switched off power to the overhead equipment, stopping all trains until the man was brought down safely by 5:21 pm. This led to a 10–15 minute suspension, delaying both up and down Harbour line services between CSMT and Panvel during the busy evening rush.
