 Mumbai: The Kanjurmarg Police have registered a case against a 54-year-old school teacher for allegedly molesting a female student. The shocking incident reportedly occurred on June 20th, between 2 PM and 2:30 PM, during the school's lunch recess. 

The teacher is accused of making inappropriate advances towards the student under the pretext of helping her with homework and mathematics.

According to the police, the complaint was filed by the 26-year-old mother of the victim, who resides in Kanjurmarg East. Her daughter attends a local school where the 54-year-old accused, a resident of Panvel, teaches mathematics.

On June 20, the teacher reportedly called the victim girl over to assist her with homework and solving math problems, using the opportunity to allegedly make illicit advances.The horrifying details came to light when the young girl returned home from school and confided in her mother about the incident.

The mother, accompanied by her daughter, went to the Kanjurmarg Police Station and filed a complaint against the accused teacher. A case has been registered under Section 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act, and Sections 8 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
