Mumbai: Indian Coast Guard conducts coastal clean-up at Dadar beach

Mumbai: In Continuation of ongoing efforts for the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ the Indian Coast Guard Regional Headquarters(West) conducted Special Coastal Cleanup- day at Dadar beach. The event was conducted from 8 am to 11 am on Jan 13 at Dadar beach. Around 300 volunteers joined hands with the Coast Guard in this noble initiative. DIG Vivek Vajpayee, TM was the chief guest for the event.

Approximate 1500 kgs of garbage was collected and handed over to BMC for disposal. All the participants reflected enthusiasm and involvement in making the beach cleaner through combined effort. Coastal Clean-up Day is conducted every year along the coastline of our country, by the Indian Coast Guard, to spread awareness about environment concerns especially for preserving beaches, saving flora and fauna and ensuring cleaner oceans.
