Mumbai: 746 COVID-19 cases reported in city, 13 succumb to virus on Sunday

The city reported 746 new Covid cases on Sunday, taking its cumulative count to 7,20,356 and 13 people succumbed to the virus. Among those dead, 11 had comorbidities and five patients were above the age of 60. So far, 15,396 people have lost their lives to Covid. The number of active cases in the city stands at 8,582.
However, the maximum city also recorded a total of 1,295 people who were recovered and discharged during the same period. So far, 6,94,082 people have recovered from the virus. The recovery rate improved by 1% on Sunday as compared to last week’s figures. The overall doubling rate also improved and stands at 728 days as compared to 723 last week.
Only 82 buildings remain sealed across the city, also the active containment zones stand at 12 as of Sunday.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra reported 9,974 new cases and 143 deaths. Total 8,562 recoveries have been registered in the last 24 hours ending Sunday morning, according to the daily bulletin released by the state health department.
The number of cases reported on Sunday is slightly higher than what was reported on Saturday, in which the number of deaths has declined. On Saturday, 26 June, the state had recorded 9,812 new cases and 179 deaths.
