Mumbai: A fire broke out early Monday morning on the sixth floor of Jyoti Hotel, located in Chakala area of Andheri East, triggering a swift emergency response. The incident occurred around dawn and was believed to have been caused by a short circuit in one of the hotel rooms.
Five fire brigade vehicles were rushed to the spot to contain the blaze. Fortunately, the fire was brought under control quickly and no casualties were reported. A few guests who were trapped inside the premises were safely rescued by the fire brigade team. Videos of the blaze have surfaced on the internet.
Local police along with fire officials are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire. Eyewitnesses said smoke was seen billowing out of the upper floor, but the prompt action by emergency responders ensured that the situation did not escalate further. The hotel management has not issued a public statement yet.
Fire At Worli Showroom, Fireman Injured During Operation
In a separate incident reported on Friday, May 23, a fire broke out in the early hours of the morning at Marshal Showroom located in Bharat Bazar, Gandhi Nagar, on Dr. E. Moses Road, Worli. The fire started around 4:45 am and affected the mezzanine floor of the showroom, which was used as a storage space.

The affected area measured approximately 900 sq. ft. and was part of a ground-plus-one structure with an AC sheet roof. According to fire officials, the fire was mainly confined to the electrical wiring, installations, and stored materials, including paper bundles, cartons, makeup products, stationery, clothes, printed matter, computers, wooden furniture, iron racks and even a TVS motorcycle kept on the mezzanine level.
The fire was fully extinguished within two and a half hours by the fire brigade team. However, one firefighter, Leading Fireman Ajindra Ganpat Sawant, sustained a minor injury to his right hand during the operation. He was immediately shifted to Nair Hospital for treatment. There were no civilian injuries reported, and officials stated that a detailed investigation will be carried out to determine the exact cause of the fire.
