Mumbai: Female leopard found dead in Thane jungle

Thane: A four-year-old female leopard was found dead in the Yeoor jungle situated in Thane on Saturday morning. The incident came to light when the forest officials in Chikalchepanipada area were on a routine patrol at 11.30 am. The forest officials said that the carcass was partially decomposed.

Officials said that they rushed to spot when the smell of a carcass was eminating from Chikalchepanipada area. The carcass indicated that the female leopard died about four days ago. Poaching or unnatural cause of death has been ruled out as the leopard’s skin, teeth and nails were found to be intact.
