Mumbai; To demolish the Delisle bridge, the Western Railway has planned for an 11-hour mega block and not to ply any local train services between Lower Parel and Churchgate on February 2-3. “We have sent the proposal for approval of this mega block to the Railway Board in Delhi,” a WR official said.

The official said 200 local train services might be cancelled along with long-distance trains will be terminated at Dadar instead of at the Mumbai Central. “Commuters heading to Churchgate will have to switch trains from CR at Dadar,” he added. The WR will keep the six pillars and will use them to provide temporary support to the new bridge. The WR has set a target of 10 months to build the new stainless steel bridge.
