Dawood Ibrahim's aide Gangster Fahim Machmach called a Ghatkopar-based businessman for Rs 50 lakhs extortion and threatened him with consequences if demand not fulfilled, the official said.
The threat call was made four days ago and Ghatkopar Police has lodged a case. They have transferred it to the anti-extortion unit.
Recently, in November, three henchmen of Fahim Machmach were arrested for allegedly planning to extort money from a south Mumbai-based businessman.
