Mumbai Cyber Cell Registers Case Over Threats To Akasa Air's Website

According to the cyber division, Akasa Air received two threats via email. First Threat came on Jan 31 - Feb 1, 2024, mentioned as The airline's Instagram account received a message from a handle named "Lexocop0".

Mumbai: Mumbai Cyber Cell’s Central Cyber Territorial Division has registered a case against an unidentified individual following a complaint by Akasa Air. The airline has accused the suspect of attempting a cyber attack on its website and threatening to disrupt its services.

According to the cyber division, Akasa Air received two threats via email. First Threat came on Jan 31 - Feb 1, 2024, mentioned as The airline's Instagram account received a message from a handle named "Lexocop0".

The message warned that the sender would take down Akasa Air’s website unless the company responded. After thet Second Threat received on Instagram on Oct 16, 2024, Another message threatened to shut down the website, but the airline did not suffer any financial losses.

Despite the threats occurring months apart, Akasa Air formally filed a complaint with the Cyber Cell on February 25, 2025. The investigation into the matter is currently underway.
