A 31-year-old man from Wadala was stabbed to death by two persons over previous enmity on Sunday night. Soon after the incident, the Wadala Truck Terminal (WTT) police registered an offence of murder and manhunt for the accused has been launched.
According to the police, the accused and the deceased Vasantkumar Devendra we're at loggerhead after he reportedly gave shelter to his relative who married to a woman from upper caste. Couple of days ago as well there where clashes took place between the two groups. The matter then reached to police which had already registered cases of attempt to murder (307) and voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means(326) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), said police.
According to the police, the incident took place on Sunday night when the Devendra was at a shed built for a function just below his building. Around 10.17 pm two persons carrying sikle entered and assaulted Devendra and fled from the spot.
The entire episode was captured in CCTV camera in which two persons carrying weapons were recorded entering the shed and then fleeing from there. Immediately after the incident Devendra was rushed to nearby hospital however he could not be survived and died during treatment.
We have registered an offence under the IPC sections for murder (302) and common intention (34) and we are searching for the accused," said Shailesh Pasalwad, senior inspector of WTT police station.
