On Monday, a 43-year-old man was arrested by Powai police for molesting and sexually assaulting his 19-year-old daughter. The man was sexually assaulting his daughter since the past three months.
According to Hindustan Times, the victim lives in Powai, and her mother works as a domestic help in the neighbourhood. The victim also has two sisters aged 17 and 15. The girl told the cops that the accused (her father) touched her inappropriately in the absence of her mother. On Monday, at around 2 pm, the girl came home after work and started cooking food, which is when her father molested her and left home.
After some time, the girl started feeling unwell and took a nap. By the time she completed her nap, her father came back home around 4 pm in an inebriated state and started molesting her. The accused slept next to the victim and started sexually abusing her. When the girl tried to stop him, he didn’t listen and started insisting for physical relationship.
The girl was scared and when her mother returned home around 5 pm, she narrated the entire incident to her. Later, when the girl’s mother confronted her husband, he started throwing abuses at them and also assaulted them. After this, both the girl and her mother approached the police. The cops later arrested the accused under sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insults with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the Indian Penal Code.
