On Saturday, a 30-year-old architect was molested by a masked man in the lift of a building in a posh locality in Bandra. The police are now on the lookout for the accused.
According to Mid-Day, the incident took place on Saturday around 11.15 pm, when the woman was returning home from a movie. The woman got into the lift alone, but when the lift was about to leave a man blocked it and came inside. Later, when the doors were shut, the woman pressed the button for the second floor, while the man just stood there.
The woman then asked the man which floor he wanted to go to, but he did not respond. After the lift reached the second floor and when she was about to step out of the lift, the accused caught her neck from behind, assaulted and molested her. The woman screamed and pushed the man away. She also tried to pull his mask, but the man overpowered her and fled from the scene.
Later, the woman called her roommates and approached the Bandra police and lodged an FIR. The woman told cops that the man was bald and aged around 30-35, but she couldn’t see his face clearly because of the mask. The police have lodged an FIR under section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and are currently investigating the matter.
