Mumbai Coastal Road BMW Crash: Worli Police File FIR Against Mira Road Man For Rash Driving; 3 Injured

The Worli Police have registered an FIR against a 38-year-old man from Mira Road for rash and negligent driving, which caused minor injuries to him and two passengers. The incident took place on March 22 at 10.30pm on the Coastal Road near Arch Span 60, northbound in Worli.

The FIR has been filed under sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for endangering public safety and section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act for dangerous driving.

According to the police, Mohammad Khalid Shafaqat Shaikh was recklessly driving a brown BMW (MH 02 CP 1387), endangering his life and that of his passengers. His negligent driving led to a minor accident, injuring himself and co-passengers Mamta Jay Shah, 38, a resident of Surat, Gujarat and Sandhya Ajay Nirmal, 37, a resident of Malad West.

Based on the complaint, Shaikh has been booked for rash driving. Further investigation is underway to determine if speeding or other traffic violations were involved.
