Mumbai: Devotees gathered at churches across the country at midnight to begin celebrating Easter- a festival that marks the end of the 40-day period of fasting and penance.
Churches across India were decked up with flowers as people thronged churches for the ceremonial midnight mass to offer prayers in devotional fervour. In Mumbai, Easter celebrations took place at midnight in St Michael’s Church, where devotees lit candles and offered prayers to the lord during the mass.
